Arse! Dropped it this morning when putting it on the centrestand.
The surface was sloping away from me which always makes it awkward, full tank of fuel too making it a bit more top heavy. By the time I realised it was going over there was foc all I could do about it.
RH mirror snapped off and indicator pushed through the fairing, plus a scrape to the tank. Plus something in my back gave a twinge so doubtless I'll be feeling that properly tomorrow. :'(

Bludy hell yiur about the 3rd foccer to have dropped their bike on as many weeks. Think I might leave mine in the garage for a week. Not to mention the price of mirrors and indicators is gonna go through the roof haha

Joking aside I hope ya get it sorted and aren't too broken in the morning 👍

It was just a moment's carelessness this morning, must be the 5th time I've dropped it while standing next to it… as opposed to once while actually riding. Still, I suppose that only averages out at about once every 3 years or 30-odd thousand miles.
Ordered a replacement mirror from M&P as soon as I got too work… riding on the motorway without one on the RHS is nerve-wracking!

I decided to check my rear brake pads and see if they needed changing...

Shappaeye, you,ll get a few more miles out of those so long as you don't use em,  :lol, Fazerider I feel for you, twice I,ve nearly dropped mine lack of experience the bike is just as dangerous stood still than moving, I,ve learnt a lot this last couple of months, never try reversing whilst on bike and side stand doesn't like anything other than 100% horizontal. hope you get it fixed soon as and enjoy rest of the summer

I have dropped mine whilst wheeling it -me by the right hand side and lost balance and went down on the left. Since then whenever I am wheeling it around I always have it leaning on or torwards me and never completely upright.
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

That could be a new thread.....What side do you stand when wheeling your bike. I would only feel comfortable pushing a bike whilst on the left side. Standing to the right just seems so wrong. It also means you have to reach over and flip the sidestand with your hand.

I always move the bike about by holding handlebar with left hand and the grab handle with my right hand, obviously from the left hand side of the bike.

Replaced the rear wheel bearings on the thou.
It was all going swimmingly until the bearing broke apart while drifting it out on the disc side leaving the outer race wedged inside the hub.
Took it to my brother's workshop and he fabricated a drift with a lip on it so it would fit behind the gap made before it all went tits up.
New bearings fitted and ready to ride......when it stops raining.

Hi fazersharp,
Your account just got me thinking about tasks we all take for granted, but in fact do differently. Just like wheeling a bike from whichever side is comfortable to the individual. Which side do you get on a bike. For me it's the left, but when you watch pit crew readying the bike for their rider, some jump on from the right others the left. I'm right handed but would fire a rifle or use a bow and arrow left handed..I'd shovel left handed as well, my right hand nearer the blade rather than on the handle. Just got me thinking that's all.

Get on from the left
Shoot with my right hand finger on the trigger
dig with my right hand at the handle and my left at the blade - stand the the left of the shovel

That could be a new thread.....What side do you stand when wheeling your bike.

I stand on the left because that feels comfortable and natural.

I'm wondering if it's a right-handed/ left-handed thing?

Any lefties find it easier to stand on the right?

I did ask my instructor about this, me being a lefties and all, but he said stand on the left as that's where the side stand is.
FYI I shoot right-handed because I used to shoot my dad's muzzle loaders and you get a face full of fire else.

Gave the thou a wash and polish, made difficult by the frequent showers. Cleaned and lubed the chain, then loaded her up with the camping gear for an early start tomorrow for couple of nights in Cornwall at the Calstock Rally. Plenty of bands and plenty of beer, with a great ride there and back. Forecast for that area is decent as well. Happy days.

Had an excellent weekend, stayed dry the wholetime. Brilliant thrash home as less on the road than on Friday.Due to the much lower light pollution in that area, was able to watch the International Spacestation on its orbit. The bands and beer were as good as expected, with the headlining rockabilly band going down a storm. The bike never missed a beat and is now awaiting its next challenge, which will be the Bol d'Or in September.

Good one Robbo. I took my Fazer out today for a good old blast. Been using it to commute lately so been quite sedate. Not today  :)  Forgot how fast and capable these machines are and came to the conclusion that as much as the MT10 is a blast to ride. If I could only have one bike.....It would have to be the Fazer. 8)

Rode it home from Stratford in terrential rain. Probably up there with the worst conditions I've ever ridden in and couldn't wait to get off the motorway.

Replaced front pads, as one pad was nearly down to the metal. All the rest still had a fair bit left, annoyingly. No sticking pistons though. Bought rears for when I get around to it.
Now have front brakes that want to throw me over the bars again  :)
Blatted down to The Lakes for a breakfast butty.

Yesterday snapped the clutch wire, just before leaving a group meet, just sat on the bike and pulled the clutch to engage in first and *snap*. Felt really bad to go home with the bus, but that meant I could have a beer or three before leaving.

Today went to the local Yamaha dealership and ordered a replacement.

After work will go back to the bike and use a clutch repair kit to get it running, to get it to my parking, as it's a lot more secure compared to the place I left it yesterday.
