Just returned from a week in France with the lads, some great roads, the Fazer never missed a beat. Roll on next year.

I always feel like it's going to fail, considering the state it was in when I bought it. I'm always thinking I might have missed something that is still attached, that is in the same state as some of the parts I've changed, and its still there waiting to fall apart. I still use it for long trips tho, you've gotta have faith haven't you.

Turned the Renthal bars upside down for a more racy riding position, more like my Fireblade that I am now used to, fitted a R6 throttle tube for fast action throttle.
Removed large mirrors, now fitting one small removable one because I want to keep this on the road.

Fitted a cut down screen.

Tonight I went for a shakedown spin,,soon got the feel of it, it felt good, got to the edges of the tyres quite easy, did about 90m miles on some nice quiet A roads, quite pleased how it felt.

Will be planning to do some track days when we get back from Austria mid August, not taking the Fazer to Austria,no thats for the Fireblade.

A good ride around Alston, Hartside, Middleton, Teesdale, Weardale etc.
Came across two bike accidents. Had to wait for air ambulance to clear the road on one, but rider didn't seem too bad. Turned around at the second one and found a different way to my destination, as the copper at the road block said it'd be about half an hour before the road opened again. Silly season is upon us.

Great not being in the south anymore: miles and miles of empty moorland roads:

I had to leave it in the garage thismorning and I had to take the car to work  :'( as I had to bring my computer in to get the IT guy to take it away and fix it after Microsoft did their FUCKING forced update to windows 10 and it has completely screwed my computer up, when I tried contacting them they were as helpful as a marziepan door knob and they hung up on me.

Oh well! on the brighter side I will be popping home at lunchtime to swap the car for the bike  :D
RIP my beautiful red beast 1999 to 2017 😭🏍😭

rode to view/put deposit on the womans r3, oil and filter change (realised it still had the oem filter in place which was a knightmare to get off!)
chain adjusted, battery charged after near battery death in birmingham (luckily after letting it cool slightly and dual lights disabled it started)

Agreed, very nice pics and a beautiful part of the country.Hedgetrimmer, your post is a hard act to follow as all I did today was to fit a lengthened sidestand to overcome the excessive lean due to the jackup kit I fitted the other month.

Finished work for the long break. Got on the fz1 and rode to Folkestone. Onto Eurotunnel and sat in a hotel in Lille. Into Bolzano tomorrow. Lead shot and fix risers definitely reduced bar vibes.

Started what I thought would be a straightforward job a month ago........!
carb to cylinder head inlet rubbers were seriously cracked & embrittled-15 summers had taken their toll.
Finally yesterday got the bike running properly-shes riding like she should :lol
This is what it took.......
4 x carb inlet rubbers
1 xAir Filter
1 x Fuel filter
Various Yamaha OEM parts inc 2 rad hoses & 3 snmall bore carb coolant circuit hoses & clips
4 xCopper exhaust port gaskets
4 x carb overhaul kits
Heatproof black engine paint,Wynns carb cleaner, GT85 spray
Stainless steel hose clips
pkt 300mm cable ties
Set of taper roller headset bearings from "Marksman" ( £24 delivered next day) Yamaha OEM are £36 each!!!
Front forks rebuilt with new springs tailored to my weight, riding style etc,new seals, clips & correct grade of oil to suit springs
Finally had to pay someone else to synchronise carburettors as my mate with gauges is off sunbathing :lol

few jobs left for winter months-free off 1 front seized brake bleed nipple, overhaul front brakes with kits from "Powerhouse"
Repaint centre stand,Rebush gear pedal to shaft to eliminate side play(wear).
The REd Reviver has been Rejuvenated!

it passed its MOT with an advisory that front tyre tread is low but not bothered bout that as its been sold in the next week or so!
It ain't what you ride, it's who you ride with!!!
