Swapped the bars out for some 758's. Got a local engineering company to tap the ends to accept the original bar end weights.
Feels a lot better, something I always noticed after riding my DRZ and that MT10.
Still toying with the idea to raise them an inch or not.

Looks very good, how do you find the width.
I am considering doing to same, but will probably shorten them to the same width as the originals.

Yes, feels much wider and totally different, will take a while to get used to it but that was what I was after as when I ride it after my DRZ the handlebars always felt too narrow.
Also, there was so much flex in the original bars. Not sure if that was a good or bad thing but these Renthals feel much more substantial.

Cleaned it , washed  and  chamoised it ,  Cleaned and lubed the chain , polished the down pipes , covered it in GT85 .

Spent all afternoon drawing up some new sub frame mounts, 7 bloody hours cutting up piece's of card, measuring, cutting again etc etc, transfer to PC, still not happy with it.

So, no, its a way off yet.

Noticed what I thought was slight cam chain noise so removed CCT to check it.

Circlip holding the plunger in came off in my hand, took me almost an hour to get the bloody thing back together  :'(

Bolted on my modified Ventura rack system, in preparation for this weekends LOFO campout, weather dependent, as always in this country.

Took the carbs off, blew out all the jets and cleaned the float bowls, then fitted the replacement ignition coils from Gheeks.

Then, just before firing it up, thought I'd take the lower plug out of the lower spout in the exhaust can.

Bikes running superbly now and sounds a treat.

No, didn't have an off, was at the bottom of my road giving it a handful in 2nd over a lump in the road.  Chain snapped and holed the crankcase. My own fault, just one of those things.
I was going to take her off the road at the end of the month anyway and give her a good overhaul, just been put forward a bit I think.

Went back later and retrieved the chain, it's fucked mate, not repairing that. You can quite clearly see the crank and conrod. Most of the chunks were resting on the frame and the smaller bits inside the sprocket cover. Think the oil coming out prevented anything entering the crank.
Going to take it off the road and source an engine or complete  donor bike. Shit happens mate.

Get it apart and see what the damage is first...if any ...u might be able to get away with a simple weld...count ur chickens Darren ....u could save some bucks...

Seriously mate, not going to get away with a weld,  it's destroyed the crankcase completely. Will be simpler to replace the engine. Any news on your work Bike, thieving twats aren't they?

Foc.....yep, your right there dazza, every now and again shit happens    :\.........just out of curiosity how old  was the chain ?

on the bright side......not long now till the new bike arrives   :thumbup

another answer to your problem, how are you with the spanners, how about buying just the engine cases off ebay/breakers and swapping over yourself ?
