Couple of shots from the last two days' rides:

Honister Pass:

The bike is in this shot ^ - just couldn't quite get it up to the vantage point  :lol

Trident, on its second engine but chassis has covered 328,000 miles since the owner bought it new for £1200, 44 years ago:

Took me until I saw this one actually out and about to decide, but I have decided I do like them:

I agree totally regarding jet washing motorbikes and just use a hosepipe at home. Barrie was using the jet at a low setting and was very careful and was fully aware of the dangers, having done hundreds of bikes. He said that in the wrong hands, ( mine ! ), it is not a good idea and that a hosepipe should be used.  After two winters of use the underside of the bike was absolutely filthy and needed some assistance to move the crud. I have been using ACF50 for years and all my bikes are treated. As you say, coffee, it's cracking stuff and really does what it says on the tin, which is needed here in North Wales, as at the slightest hint of freezing conditions the salt is laid down.
What type/make of high pressure gun do you use, agricola ? I would consider doing as you do in future.

I use this. Bought it from Stafford bike show a few years ago, cost £10 as I recall, there still about the same price now. I only use it for the one task, thats ACF50ing the bike. Never had a problem with it

Personally I do not see the point in covering the whole bike in acf 50 - plastics and sound painted areas. And the main areas for corrosion it all burns off anyway. I would use a tin and apply it with a rag or tooth brush and only to the vulnerable areas. For me I do not like the way its a little sticky and attracts all the dirt. But it is very good stuff and would recommend it to everyone.
I did a test by only smearing it on one scaffold tower leg and here is the results after a couple of years a couple of years
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

I would think you'd have arms like Charles Atlas after a few hours laying them :lol I had to look up what they were but I remember labouring for a brickie years ago who was doing a manhole in blue bricks and they seemed very heavy!

I did some repairs on some brickwork on a steam railway I was a member of, all blues and the old full 3" blues not sure what was the most painful my back, wrist or the holes in the ends of my fingers on my left hand.  Oh happy days :\ :)

dont think I could pick imperial blues up all day long now mate, let alone lay the buggers lol. I have to put the trowel down now to use two hands when laying high density conc blocks, as I cant pick the bloody things up with a one handed clamp around the top anymore.  Yup railways loved them blues didn't they, especially the tunnels. must have been something to have been a brickie back when they built those.

Network rail are repairing a bridge not far from where I live the road goes over the railway on a hill they have took the walls down and rebuilding them in blues The brickies are all youngish blokes the brickwork is parallel to surface of the road/pavement I have to say it's a cracking job they are doing.

Had a whizz out around the Kent/Sussex B roads, taking in the 1066 caff on the A21 for brunch. This was the first outing my riding buddy has been on since having a stent fitted a couple of weeks ago.  Rolled onto the drive with 150ish miles on the trip, just before the rain.Result.

Went on a Group Ride with the local IAM club, first time I've been on one for ages! Had a great time on some fun roads between Portsmouth and Shaftesbury.

Also tried out the new TomTom 550 sat nav which replaced my venerable Rider v2 after the last time I plugged it in to the computer and TomTom said "we're not supporting this model any more, how would you like 20% off a new one?"

It's good, but trying to figure out how to get it to function like my old one is a PITA!

Also I had to turn on the "orientation lock", because, although you can rotate it through 90 degrees to change it from portrait to landscape format, if you go over a bump, it has a distressing habit of flipping the display upside down...!

Still, lovely day for a ride :thumbup

Finally sorted the suspension. Fitted hyperpro spring and 30mm Jack up kit to the rear then flushed out the forks and replaced with nice fresh 10w oil.
So much smoother ride now, really worth doing

Trackday at Donington Park. Moved up into Inters today for the first time, bit nervous at first, but fine after a couple of sessions. Held my own, lapped consistently and smoothly at around my best time. Lovely day out. The fairing sliders I made stopped me wearing the holes bigger, and the brakes have faded a little so new pads reqd before the next one. I just wish the gearbox wasnt so cluncky

Thought I'd adjust the clutch cable free play at the engine end as the handlebar adjuster was more or less spent....... what a foccing wanker of a job that is 😓😓

Anyone with a gen 2 with probably know what I mean. If I were to do it properly it's a tank off airbox out job 😵
I just about managed with just lifting the tank but that's only thanks to pure patience and the right tools.... the little bastard that signed off on that particular design needs a slap upside the head

Cleaned front brake calipers on the 1000 and fitted new pads, EBC Double-H , Sintered. Measured disc thickness. All is well. Ready to roll after a winter on the 600.
