Fitted a Throttle Position Sensor on my ' winter' 600 Fazer after the failure of the original. Thanks to referring to the post from darrsi on TPS adjustment in 2014 I was able to do it without falling foul of the rev counter needle falling clockwise when it indicated 10000 revs. Thank-you darrsi.

Day off today.  Up to the hospital in the car for my annual kidney x-ray to check on ma stones. Now booked in for a lithotripsy session.  Joy.  It was that or the camera laser thing up ma wee winkie into ma kindey :eek , or just continue to suffer from repeated renal colic attacks but I’m getting a bit tired o that.  Ah well.

Anyway got a few wee other things done.  Then dragged the old thou oot o the garage.  Popped down to MCS in Kilmarnock.  Drooled over the MT10.  Had a chat with the sales dude.
They have a demo model.  Hmm – think I might have to.
Enjoyed ma wee spin on the bike.

Took it to work, first outing of the year and gave the 400 a rest. You can easily forget how good these Fazers are. Not been started for 6 months and fired straight up. Did have a quick look round it prior and all in order.

came out of uni to find a nice street triple parked next to the thou. Couldn't help but notice that whilst my thous new bt016 rear aint exactly off the edges (roads still too cold), the feller with the striple aint too keen on corners or roundabouts. seems a shame, them things handle brilliantly... :)

We used to have this discussion a few years back when we used to go on rides with a few lads and it used to bother some of those who just didn't want to lean to any limits or were just to nervous to but they really enjoyed riding and that's what it's about really, not everyone has that confidence but it don't mean those who do enjoy biking anymore than those who don't,there'll always be someone out there who'll go harder than the next bloke but so what? at the end of the day we all want to get home don't we?

Needed to adjust the clutch cable and having read and being told it's best to do it from the gearbox not the lever I thought I'd do that, didn't realise you had to take the tank off to get to the cable, anyway did that and it's not the easiest thing to get at,I ended up with 4 12mm spanners just trying to get a different crank to undo the nuts, the trouble is after undoing the lock nut when you try to adjust the cable it just keeps springing back,I ended up adjusting the cable at the bar end then locking up the nut at the box,but this seems to defeat the object of adjusting at the box if you're getting the slack in the cable by adjusting at the bar end if that makes any sense, has anyone had this problem? This is a gen2 I think in future I'll just do it at the bars. :wall

Cwmbran to the Honey Cafe in Bronllys (see photo of cafe) then on to Newbridge-on-Wye, Beulah, Llandovery and Sennybridge for a second pit stop and then home back to Cwmbran.

Fantastic day's riding, beautiful weather and fairly empty roads.

Let's hope we get loads more great weather this Spring & Summer  :sun

A ride to the Anglesey Circuit for the Wirral 100 Club meeting. Sunny, blue skies, 1 degree when I left at 7am, 160 miles.

I take it the "murder" lift is the top of the gable?

Treated her to a proper service, rather than me just trying to bodge it (I had some spare sheckles at last).  And she passed her MOT too  :) :) :) :)

Got half way through changing the clutch cable on my FZ6 this afternooon which should (supposedly) have been an easy job of an hour or so, but turned out to be a right PITA!

There's a stupid clip buried inside the frame that is very difficult to get to, so you need to take the airbox off to reach it.

Then I discover that the clutch cable has two metal sections (presumably to hold the bend in the right places or something) which are an absolute bastard to wiggle through the narrow gaps around the engine and, even worse, by the side of the engine and through the front of the frame to the clutch lever :(

By the time I *finally* got the old one out and the new one in place it was dark and I've only got a little hand-held fluorescent light to see by, so there was no way I could get the airbox back in place etc.

I'll have to finish it tomorrow... :(
