Hey Robbo,
Just out of interest are your exhaust manifold studs stainless, if they are apply plenty of copper slip to them, stainless nuts on stainless studs or bolts can gall or cold weld if this happens they will never come undone.
I do quite a bit of work on boats and galling was something I came across when lowering the masts for an insurance survey to be done on Zara a 24 foot Westerly Paggant, all the turn buckles on the standing rigging had galled and had to be cut off with a disk cutter and replaced with new, not a great problem on standing rigging but would be a pig on the exhaust manifold in behind the frame down tubes.
Have a read on the link below.

No, left the steel studs in as only 1 needed replacement. Thought I'd go with the stainless nuts for ease of disassembly should it be necessary in the future. Was aware of galling so figured dissimilar metals was the way to go. Plenty of copper grease is my middle name :lol . Once you've seen a seized exup valve, you know it makes sense :thumbup

Back out the next day (Friday) up from Cwmbran to Newtown, via Bronllys, on the fantastic A483 from Llandrindod Wells.
Then back down on the A470 via Llangurig and Rhayader, turning off at Newbridge-on-Wye onto the amazing B4358 to Beulah, then on to Llandovery for a cuppa at the West End Cafe, before heading home.
A fantastic day, in fantastic weather. on a fantastic bike  :sun :faz :thumbup

Took the FZ1 for it's MOT passed no advisories 2 weeks ago took the RF900 passed no adviseries. Was confident they would pass, but even so think I'd sooner go to  the dentist for a check up.

First ride in 10 days or so… poor old thing needs some work doing (2nd gear issue rearing its ugly head again), but it got through the MOT with a few minor advisories.

Fitted the replacement stainless exhaust flange nuts, but noticed they were 3mm shallower that the OE steel ones. This meant rather a lot of thread was left exposed, so a quick trip down to Toolstation for some 8mm stainless domed nuts, a liberal coating of copper grease, problem solved.

A ride to the coast, stopping at the Cayley, Rhos on Sea, for a coffee and teacake. Sunny spells, around 7 degrees. Plenty of bikers out today.

First breakfast run since getting the Fazer back on the road. Nice early 7 o'clock start so plenty of high jinks. Breakfast at the 1066 on A21, 160 mile round trip and a cheeky pint on the way home.

Met up with Red and Ceri at the Ace and then had a bimble to Epping Forrest and around TOWIE country.  160 miles in total.  Happy days.

Yesterday, actually. To avoid the mayhem of heavy traffic in North Wales, I headed in the opposite direction towards Shropshire and Staffordshire. Streams of cars, motorbikes, campervans, caravans, coming towards me, but virtually empty roads in front of me. I headed to Whitchurch, Audlem, Market Drayton, Loggerheads, Eccleshall, Stone, Uttoxeter, Rugeley. I decided to go to a cafe at Chasewater, near Cannock, so headed to Hednesford, which is where I am from originally. In Hednesford I noticed a gathering of bikers outside the Victoria Working Mens Club so I stopped to see what was going on. I ended up staying there for two and a half hours. It was the Hednesford Motorcycle Club hosting the MZ Owners Club. I told them that I was heading for a cafe and they said don't bother as I could have food and drink with them. There was a barbecue, bar, tea and coffee. What a friendly group of people they were. They said that I was welcome to come to any of their gatherings, 1st Sunday of the month for this one. To top things off, I told them that my late Grandfather had been the local GP. Several of the group remembered him and had been treated by him.
I made my way back to Wrexham through Staffordshire and Shropshire, a total of 160 miles on very quiet roads. One of the best days out I have had for a while and I shall be returning to the Hednesford Motorcycle Club. Unfortunately, I did not have my camera with me.

Went up to the Ponderoasa for a sausage sandwich via the Raven Cafe for a cuppa, Llangollen and the Horseshoe Pass. Left everyone i went with there and rode home on my own via the A534 because i wanted a bit of a play.

There was a lovely Rudge Ulster up there.
