@Chris, you live in Shetland?

I dread to think what weather you get?

I do indeed, to be fair the weather isn't as bad as everyone makes out. It can be wild but it's part of the charm of the island. Shetland is a beautiful place and a place well worth visiting if you've never been. Having said that, come sometime during the summer months, especially if you're on a bike. haha!

Great that's 4 of us. I'm just waiting to hear back from deadeye if he has the set of pipes we need to send them or if I need to buy a seperate set to send them. Will keep everyone posted  :)

Come to England in the summer months and you get that wet, wild weather you're talking about!  :'(

Yes, at least we don't usually get floods here, some of the roads have been known to wash away though... land slides are quite common as the land is mostly peat on top of rock and as soon as the water gets between them then it can slip.

Have a quick look at the pics in my introduction thread "hello from up north" some nice backdrops in there  ;)

They appear to be a bit scruffy and the outer shell has broken in places, but I think they should be enough for an estimate?

Ahah, in that link the far left item is in fact 3 pieces - 2 rubber hoses and a metal pipe. The metal pipe on mine is fused to the frame :(

In my image, it would like the 3rd and 4th pipes, from the left of the image, together.

Ah yes I see, I think they would need the pipes together to make up a replica set?

Upon further inspection, there are two metal pipes (one either side) which are bolted to the frame and link the rubber pipes. If these were replaced with silicone, then they would most likely have to be secured with new brackets. Also note that I am missing the 2 pipes that are located under the tank as these have been completely dis-integrated and am showing an extra pipe which is the long thin overflow pipe(?)

I assume for most, the under tank pipes wouldn't be much of an issue as you can't actually see them unless you take the tank off.

Yes, I agree. Good point, Don't think we'd need the overflow pipe either would we? Obviously the less pipes to make the less the kit will cost and as an overflow you can't really see it and it's unlikely to wear out...

The only reason I pulled the overflow out is because it links to the top right of the radiator (when sat on bike) so it is visible

Ah right, good plan then chuck  :D

I think i'd send them the pipes including the metal pipes so they can decide what's the best plan for them, sure they do clips and fixings too and if not then we can get them to make the kit from just the rubber templates. That a good idea?

I could be interested. Certainly don't want any Chinese rubbish!

Nobody asked you to buy "Chinese rubbish", we were trying to find out what was readily available online  :rolleyes

I was referring to the link to the ones on eBay.

Seeing as they are the biggest producers of motorcycles in the world as well i wouldn't have thought a hosepipe would be too much of an issue for them either!  :)

Hi Noggythenog,

No worries, i'll add you to the list of people interested  :D

Thanks buddy, so far I've not done a huge amount and Deadeye has done more than me so it's a team effort but thanks  8)

Yes, payment and posting and things will need to be sorted further down the line but at the moment then just finding out how much the kit will cost is the priority. Will keep you all informed.  :)

Agreed they make most of the stuff we buy these days and whilst a lot of it is fine, there's still plenty of it that's complete rubbish.

And sorry for taking this thread off topic.

Back to the hoses.

Haha, you can get black ones if you like darrsi. Maybe a splash of colour would be nice though? red and black go well together  ;)
