Well, I hope you never have to use it mate.

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

Cheers, had to use my horn a couple of times to wake up muppets at junctions and get their attention to make sure they have seen me. Noone's pulled out on me in a while, not since I had my cbr125 when I was learning.

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

Excatly. I use the horn 3-4 times a journey.

Hi all
I don't know if this is a relevant advice for the main question.
On my former bike that was a FZS600, I only changed a bit of thing everyone related to the ride safety:
- brake pads (SBS RS)
- brake master cylinder (a new NISSIN radial unit)
- brake pipeline/hoses (steel mesh)
- shock dampers (FG Gubellini front fork upgrade and rear complete replace unit)

The bike has really changed its character, can believe me. The little Fazer could swallow the dust  to many supersport in curvy roads.

So far on my '99:

-LED miniblinkers, with proper spacers and relay
-Bi-Xenon headlights (the low beam adapter was a f*cker, ended up making one at Uni with a 3d-printer)
-LED rear/brake light bulbs (in original housing though, don't shine much on the plates)
-Delkevic downpipes
-Scorpion Exhaust slip-on  :evil
-Painted from original candy red (had been very abused by the elements: previous owner had it sitting year-round on the front lawn  :eek ) to matte white + new decals
-Blue LED instrument lights
-K&N air filter
-Carbon look hugger
-Carbon fibre yoke cover

Don't really know what to do next.

very nice Foxwood! Looks Great!

Did you have any trouble with fitting the delkevic downpipes or did they line up ok?

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

Thanks Chris!

Nothing a small rubber mallet didn't fix. Had more trouble taking off the old rusted-through ones.  :)

If you ride in crap weather, a fender extenda and hugger makes a hell of a difference. Wish I fitted mine earlier. Not the most glamorous but very practical. Re hugger, try getting one that extends downwards aswell, it will give added protection to the linkage and shock. Pyramid do these but there are others.

Suspension. If on a budget, even just changing the fork springs will make a big difference. Sorting out the back end usually gets expensive though.

Better bulbs (or any other headlight upgrade) especially on the square eye. Led bulbs in the clocks is a easy and cheap upgrade. A Good screen is handy in the winter.

Other than aesthetics, don't see much benefit of lower fairings or belly pan. Better off with some sort of crash protection.

+ lots of others! One you start you can't stop!

These are the total so far:  Pyramid Fenda Extenda and Yamaha engine bars :-)

Ugly, but functional.

Any idea how much it would cost to respray a Fazer 600 ?

Cheers
Simon
Opinions are like A**holes, Everyone has one.  Some people seem to have more than one though which is a bit odd.

I had mine done for 280€, but that was with me unbolting the fairings and tank, then reinstalling them after they had been sprayed. A pretty moderate price hereabouts. Don't know what it would cost in the UK though.

Looking really good, however you should really get those Xenons in projectors housings, they will be blinding other drivers!

Thanks alexanderfitu. You're right I really should get them in to projector housings, but I'm not too good with doing electrical work and haven't got the assets to buy a new kit. Haven't had the police stop me yet and I've managed to adjust the beams so that they don't blind oncoming traffic or cars in front of me. Besides it seems to get me noticed better as they are.

It's the basic stainless steel round model from last year. (http://www.scorpion-exhausts.com/product-details.html?autoid=791)
Can't remember where I ordered it from, but def not straight from the factory. It  wasn't the cheapest either, but if I remember correctly it was the cheapest CE -certified can I could find at the time. Haven't had the db-killer on it at all, gives a nice low rumble at idle and low revs. And crackles nicely after releasing the throttle when doing a harder acceleration. All in all, been very pleased with it.

Edit: My English seems to be getting worse and worse  :lol
