Yeah, they're not for me, I'd rather spend my money on other things for the bike, but each to their own.
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

not trying to be picky.....but wouldn't that be termed illegal and "encourage" a tug by the police?
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - strawberries in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming - WOO HOO! What a Ride!"

my01 fzs already taken, but my51 available, but then I cant have.

I like the idea of having a bike specific one, not going to spend more than 250 on it though!

With bike plates the last three letters have to be on a separate line to the number, its not just spacing.

On my Mrs car we had a plate that is K4F OB when the spacing should be K4 FOB. Only got tugged once for it and currently have the standard one on for the MOT from last year still. Its just not worth the agro of drawing attention to yourself these days.
Another ex-Fazer rider that is a foccer again

The DVLA site goes from 51.  Are you sure about this?

I have just had a look at the wiki page for uk numberplates, and apparently the new style plates came in September 2001, so I couldnt have a new style either way

I was just about to mention this! 51 (sept 2001) was when new plates came in

I remember when i had just bought my F650 and my bro had new car with a "personalised" plate P444PKR and was bragging bout it. I pointed out my reg N608ARB was a personalised , he said whats different bout that.... I just said well my bike only vehicle with that number on it!!! lol

My FireBlade had a postbox style number plate and i was always getting pulled. One copper followed me for 4 miles with his Blues and Two's on before i stopped, i couldn't believe it.
In the end i put the original on, £150 in fines from 3 pulls.I only fit standard plates now?

It would still be a standard size, just inventive spacing :)

As I recall ... It's another £80.00 to pay to the DVLA every time you change your bike  :(

£80 worth of pop would fill the average tank .. well almost  :lol

I have had a couple of bikes that lots of people want to photograph .. including Spanish & French Police .. a Special BMW R1200 c Montauk. Mark Grinnall Trike and now my 2008 Honda CB1300s HP EZS Sports Sidecar outfit .. The Spanish Dancer.

If ever the camera man is talking serious .. or the bike is in a show (I've won a couple of Best Bike awards  :)
I carry (in the boot) a laminated card plate ABC 123 that sticks onto the real plate .. looks cool, gives nothing away and people seem to really like it  :b     End of shift .. it's all Bull Stuff Boys and Toys  :rolleyes

Stay Safe Y'all .  Trev The Polar Bear    (By the way .. ABC 123 = A Bike Conversion with 1. 2. 3 Wheels  :\ )

Imo it's not worth cocking around with spacing/font/screw caps etc.  It doesn't make it look nicer, it's still just a number plate.
