My Father-in-law does a lot of choir work and is doing a Queen concert soon. He knows nothing about Queen!

Reminds me of Classic Rock: Rock Classics by the LSO, a copy of which I had back in the 1980s.

I was introduced to classical music by my wife when I was in my early twenties, but I really started to appreciate it when I watched Apocalypse Now and Platoon with audio through a mission amplifier and speakers super loud. I got into Country music a while ago, and find that it, and Classical are good soothers whilst riding. I also like it when on the bike

I was weened onto classical subliminally while watching Looney Toons.
Then at Grammar school I was converted when I sat and listened to Beethoven's 5th for the first time.

I certainly don't like the stereotypical biker music (metal, rock etc). Apart from that, my tastes are eclectic (e.g. Elbow, Kate Bush, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, Cocteau Twins, Bjork, Blr, The Beatles...).
I like a good dose of classical music though usually have no idea what it is I'm listening to. My other half is a classically-trained musician and has increased my knowledge and appreciation of classical music.
I recommend you listen to "Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis" composed by Ralph Vaughn Williams in 1910. It's astoundingly beautiful, lasting around 15 minutes. It's well worth a listen.
There's an audio player of it on the wikipedia page:

I love all sorts of music, one minute I can listen to Prodigy, then the next album could be 16th century renaissance music by messers Byrd and Tallis and the next could Iron Maiden, depends on my mood really.
I sing in a choral society and love choral music.
If you like Queen try this, some of it is a bit heavy, but the adagio (slow movement) which is essentially "who wants to live for ever" is beautiful.

Have to agree about the "Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis" it's a nice piece.
Try this too Morten Lauridsen - O Magnum Mysterium it's a choral piece and gives me goose bumps every time.
Another modern composer who does beautiful choral work is Eric Whitacre, check out his "virtual choir" performing "sleep" on Youtube.
A lot of film music is a good way to get into classical music, John Williams and John Barry have both written some lovely music for films.
