Hi! Hants based biker
« on: 16 September 2012, 03:17:17 pm »

Hey,

I've got a red 2003 fzs 600, now owned it for a year.

It's my first bike, and eally enjoying it, its quick and comfortable and looks good! I bought it from a 70 year old geezer and has raised bars as a result. I like the belly pan which i found out is a yamaha part and stupidly expensive to buy.

Nice one mate, enjoy it. Seems like the old guy has looked after it  :D
Not quite sure what to do with my early mid-life crisis. Ideas on a post card to P.O.BOX 150...

Hi mate and welcome to the club. I agree Popeye its about time we had a met somewhere. I live in Lymington but at the moment still gettin over a badly bust leg with bike riding still painful at the knee. Looks like it may be in the next 4-6 weeks before riding properly again. Had a few short distance ones but bloody frustrating having a lovely bike and not being able to ride her! Hope to meet some of you guys soon??...Rich

Nice one Fazermike, I live near Fareham so would be good to meet up for a blast when it's warmer?

We just need to fix a date. Are you free most weekends? I work a rolling week so have days off during the week but get some weekends off too?

Cheers,   Mickey

unfortunately My fazer runs out of tax very soon and I don't pick it up till this weekend from Bristol so I won't be taxing it till March at the earliest.

So anytime after then will be fine  :thumbup
Probably weekday evenings is best for me as I'm busy most weekends (have my son every other one) And you can have some nice days in March  :)

Picked up my Fazer yesterday and the sun was shining and it was a whole 8 degrees!I was just as described fantastic condition and very handsome in blue!  Had a good ride back home from Bristol (120 miles) and was very impressed with the power and torque of the engine!

I must admit that I was looking for another gear a few times though...you seem to get into top gear so quickly! It was mainly motorways on the way back with a brief  10 mile ride down the A272 where I tried it in the bends.
I did find it a bit bouncy and it did tend to steer wide when tipping in but I need some time to fiddle with the  suspension settings  :)

You're right about getting into top. When I'm plodding on I find I seldom need to tap it down a gear as it'll pull well in top. My bike has the R1 fork upgrade and the R6 shock upgrade aswel as the full Monty Ivanising. It's such an awesome bike, which I hope to have for many more years?

Yes the engine is awsome! went through a few villages on the way home and stayed in top gear right down to 30mph and it pulled from there with no problems  :)

I'm not sure about going the R1 fork upgrade route but definitely considering the R6 shock and linkage upgrade that Devilsyam does

Not sure about the Ivanising that keeps being mentioned as the engine seems fine to me but It has had a KN filter upgrade though if that would make any difference?
