Don't know about Gen 1 but they are comfortable and look nicer on a Gen 2,only a small rise on mine though but a bit wider and pulled back a bit over std, makes you sit back more and no weight on arms.

I would have thought the majority of Gen1 owners who have elected to change from stock to Renthals, would have opted for 758's. Personally I have mine on lower risers, which tends to distribute your body weight between arms, backside and feet in a sort of triangle.

As robbo says most owners who replace their bars do so with Renthal 758s (Ultra Low), like robbo I also have lower bar risers (GYTR). The 758s are wider and I feel give you better control of the bike especially if you use positive/counter steering. The lower risers allow you to put a bit more weight over the front which helps when you are riding a bit more 'progressively'. When swapping the bars it is important to remember the bar end weights, unless you tap out the Renthals to take the OEM bar weights you will be stuck with lightweight aftermarket 'bung' type bar ends which don't have anywhere near the same effect with reducing vibrations through the bars. Some owners have cut strips of sheet lead and slipped those into the bars to help, but I would definitely recommend tapping out the Renthals to take the OEM bar ends.

Thanks guys, I have some cheap bar ends in my stock bars now, got numb right hand bad today on ride out. I have opted for R&G bar ends which I think weigh the same as the stock bar ends.

The stock bar end weights are quite heavy, 308 grams each. The thread is 16mm and 16 threads per inch.

I put Renthal bar ends in mine, they're a bit lighter than std and you do get some buzzing at some revs but not at others,it's not bad enough to change for me though and they do look nice. ;)

I've just fitted drag bars on mine, will try and post a pic later.  They have made below 70 a PITA but the bike is for hooning about on + track days so not an issue for me.

Hi Dodsy, and welcome,
If you post your question as a "new topic", you'll get more replies to help you out. I think everyone has a personal favourite tyre manufacturer, maybe from past experiences. Bridgestones had been my go to tyre for 20 odd years, but when I got my Fazer I chose Metzeler Road Tech 01's on the recommendation of a long term owner whose opinion I respected. On my 2nd front and 3rd rear now, well happy.
