Puzzling Sidelight/Tail light problem
« on: 09 April 2012, 09:40:05 PM »
I was attempting to fit some led spotlights today, taking a feed from the side/parking light. All was fine until suddenly no power to the side light or the tail lights. Checked fuses and all appear to be okay. Side light works okay when running a lead direct from the battery. Main beam and high beam are fine and brake lights are fine. I've checked all bulbs and they are all okay.

I'd be grateful if anyone has an idea what I may have blown/fused/destroyed.

Many thanks in anticipation.

that sounds as if you may have a loose connection in the wiring, trace it back from the light through the switch and back to the battery...you may have upset it when fitting the extra lights  :)

Remember with led lighting current will only flow one way unlike a regular bulb.

Hi,

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I am having the same problem. Wondered if you could explain where the fuse is exactly

Thanks

ok it was just a slightly misleading post earlier on
the fuse is actually under the seat  in the rear left hand side panel just follow the main wiring loom it might be tucked underneath it
not under the side panel you would first think of

I'd have never thought of looking there for a fuse.  Mentally noted for the future.

then remembered i had replaced that once in the past so thought it would be best to update the post

I love this post. Been having the same problem and pulling my hair out looking for the solution. Came on here to ask for any ideas and low & behold, this thread was sitting on the top page. Changed the fuse and now all good

Cheers

brilliant but also infuriating as why the fook did they put a fuse their why not beside the fuse box even in the wiring diagram it shows it but not where it is
