Touring Seats
« on: 29 May 2019, 12:12:33 pm »
Hi,

Has anyone had any experience of swapping the standard seats out for touring versions.

After a couple of hours riding on Saturday and again on Monday my butt had had enough. I used to have an XJR and I swapped the seat on that with great results.
Can anyone recommend an alternative seat or a decent upholsterer?

Thanks

No experience myself but I remember reading a thread on here some time ago about a guy who had (got an upholsterer to) cut some of the foam out of the centre of the seat and fit softer memory foam in one section. Apparently it’s a trick the Harley boys who do mega miles use?

Melvin of Custom Motorcycle seats transformed my standard seat, Bladerunner Styling with black with silver piping. Totally transformed mine from 1-2 hours of endurance to an all-dayer setup (Gelastic Pad Insertions which, to be fair do seem to work well). Not cheap, tho...
