Clutch Action
« on: 15 March 2019, 04:23:50 pm »
Hi all

My son has just brought a 09 plate FZ1 and I have seen it today for the 1st time. 10k miles and very clean

The clutch action seems heavy and a bit sticky at the lever. Is that the norm or is there something amiss perhaps. I can't comment yet how it rides but will tomorrow!! (if he lets me have a go)

I think you've got either a dry cable or a tight bend in the run, maybe at some stage a previous owner has had the tank off for servicing or whatever and disturbed the cable when he's put it back there's a fair bit of stuff that could press against it under there, also has it got aftermarket bars on?if so they only have to be a bit wider or deeper to tighten the cable action,I put some Renthal bars on mine and had this problem and had to ease the run of the cable to suit the bars. :)
never look down on anyone unless you're helping them up.
