Unfortunately I have very little info on the Bronze version as I did all my research on the silver one. The bronze one would have made the rear to high for me and I opted for the later updated model which is slightly shorter. Raised the rear 10mm whereas the bronze would have raised it closer to 20mm.The stock setting of the s1000rr was what I used as a base line and but for my 89kg in full gear it was slightly to soft and i upped  the standard settings one notch.
The standard settings for the Bronze shock are
Rebound Adjuster on Fork is 4Low speed compression Inner adjuster is 4High speed compression Outer adjuster is 6
Would be a good base setting
Be cautious with the CBR1000RR shock as not all will fit are are about 10Kg,  I think the physical size you need is 55-155-75 this will not fit the Silver one as it is 55-155-80

Cheers for the reply

From searching and reading on the US forum/cbr forums  I have seen that the early cbr spring is 12kg and this bmw shock is 9.5kg

I’ve come from a tracer so the higher seat will suit me, plus it feels low to me at the moment. I come from a mx background and prefer tall bikes

So yeah, just hope my research on the cbr spring is correct

Just checked through my notes and yes correct it is 12kg
You would want to be over the 120Kg mark weight wise for that spring rate. The standard S1000RR spring on the 2010-2011 is 8.5Kg and the 2011-2013 is 8.4kg but are not interchangeable.  I find the standard 8.4Kg good enough for my 89Kg and still works well when my wife is on the back and that would be a combined weight of 140Kg. The original fazer rear spring is only7.5Kg

Thanks again.  I’m 23 stone in my gear. I ride fast and hard on weekends and summer nights, out in the twisties trying to chase my mates down on r1/GSXR750 etc but I also do a bit of touring with Mrs (11 stone)

Cheers for clarifying that for me

Any suggestions as to settings to start with on the bronze shock with cbr spring?

I would normally start with rear static sag of 20mm and work back to 10mm if necessary, a good all round setting is 30 mm front and rear laden static sag (you sitting on the bike)
The rear shock Rebound Adjuster on Fork 5, Low speed compression Inner adjuster 5, High speed compression Outer adjuster.Any more than 30mm and you are using to much of the suspension stroke for the damping to work properly when riding.

Finally sorted this. It’s like night and day  :eek   :b   Ended up puting beemer shock on with stock beemer spring as cbr one was a no go. Would preload up to the max and it’s absolutely perfect I kid you not ! So front and rear both minted. Absolutely over the moon. It’s an absolute dream  :lol
