Hello from South Wales
« on: 09 February 2019, 06:45:24 pm »
Hi all :)

I'm Ryan from Aberdare, and I've got what I'm hoping is a Fazer, under the remains of a streetfighter mod that's been half done  :eek

Expect lots of daft questions!  :D

Hello from Crumlin
Have you got any pictures?

Thanks both :)

I'm probably going to finish the project, as it looks like the heavy lifting's been done, but it looks like it's been done on a budget and partially done to get it running, rather than making it tidy. It's a '94 FZR600, so parts seem to be a bit harder to come by.

I've had the bike for four years without doing anything yet, so waiting a bit longer won't hurt. I've got a chronic illness and have become a father, so it's not exactly been a priority. I've got a GSX600F that's my main bike, so I've got something to ride in the meantime. My ideal plan is to get the Fazer running and on the road, then take the Suzuki off the road to clean up properly. Once I've ridden them both for a while, I'll decide which one I prefer and sell the other. I've also got a GZ125 that needs some minor work to get on the road again, so I'll also sell that, and put the funds in a bike pot. Eventually I'll either have one of the 600s on the road, or sell all three and put the combined money towards something else.

Money's tight and free time is hard to come by, so I might still be here in another four years trying to get it running  :eek :D

Thanks for posting the photos. Sorry to hear of your health problems, but congratulations on becoming a father ! You certainly have a lot on your plate but it's good that you have the GSX to ride, so no time pressure to finish the FZR.

Think it started life as a FZR600R fox eye great little bike, best description I've heard was from an earlier post 4stroke 600 version of a 350YPVS just about sums them up for a fun ride. parts are still pretty easy to find new or on ebay Wemoto carry most of the service items and a fair few other bits too. Good luck it will make a nice, fun, quick ride.

Thanks both, and thanks for the offer Ogri  :)

I'm not too bad at fixing things now, after getting the Suzuki running. I've roped one of my friends into being my tamed mechanic too. I fix his computer, and he helps me with the bikes  :D
