DaveFX8:
Hi guys sorry my second post is looking for help

i have a 2011 FZ8 16k miles full history seems a well looked after bike
only got it yesterday.

well here issue.

i went to look at the bike the bike was stone cold, it fired up no problem at all stopped and started it 6 or 7 times no issue.

rode it fairly steady about 45 miles everything seemed good, stopped in town to show my wife was there about 20 mins went to start it, nothing hit the button not a peep, every time i hit the start the EML illuminates.

i turned it on and off for about 10 mins then it fired into life and i rode 10 mins home when i got there, same again wouldn't start messed abot 2 or 3 mins then again fired up.

i then left it until this morning a first touch it fired up no problem i then just left it to tick over and get up to temp againg started and stopped it abou 15 times no problem.
i then waited for it to reach 101 degrees the fan cut in, hit the button and it was again dead.

it took about 25 mines before it would start again temp went down too 56 before it would restart.
i then left it running it then got up to 103 i turned it of but this time it started ok i started it about 6 or 7 times when it was over 100 degrees i then pushed it back in the garage and scratched my head  :rolleyes :rolleyes :rolleyes :rolleyes

any help or pointers greatly appreciated

Does it turn over or is there nothing at all?

nothing at all completely dead  :rolleyes

It's the starter relay then.
Six quid and half an hour will have it fixed.
This can be tested if you are competent with mechanics/electrics in quite literally 2 minutes.

old one removed, new one ordered £18 so has to be worth a try

little bit concerned as the one i removed had no identification or writing on it all, so worried its an aftermarket part
that someone already replaced to try solve the problem :(
