I rode past the shop yesterday morning and noticed it was empty.Cant imagine they were selling many bikes last couple of years-perhaps the "adventure" bike market has levelled off after the last 10 years? Must admit I am much happier on a lightweight Tracer thats a bit easier to move around than some of the "behemoths" I see being ridden.

I see nae end of GS's and that big S1000XR thing.BMW seem to be selling loads of bikes. But then I think the only thing keeping the market healthy right now is PCP.The pound is the weakest it has been for quite some time.Hate to say it, but a No Deal BREXIT could kill the market. The weaker the pound gets, the dearer the bikes in the showroom.

Ewan and Charlie certainly put GS's on the map. KTM must have rued that decision all those years ago. However the S1000XR is a different animal, a true sports and then some...tourer. :thumbup

KTM certainly scored the biggest own goal on the Long Way Round. I bet Charlie Boorman is still laughing his head off.

Another one I've seen quite a few of recently are those Honda Africa Twin things..But by far the most common bike I see round here, well when the sun is out, are Harleys.  Wi riders dressed up like outlaws.  However as soon as a grey cloud appears in the sky they all vannish.

I was foccing dreaming of them.  I considered praying for them (I’m an atheist)..This summer has been mental.  Warmest summer I can remember, though I can just about remember 76, maybe that was warmer..I even took to heading up hills at night to escape the heat.  For several weeks it was way too warm fae me..This is Ben lomond at dawn back on the 30th June.

I recently took a S1000R and a S1000RR out for a test ride and was blown away by them both. The R was amazing and I would love one but for the fact I'm thinking of going smaller engine wise and a Street triple is more on my radar. The RR made me feel like i could conquer the TT, It's such an amazing piece of machinery. Funnily enough, my Gen 1 didn't feel as bad as i thought it would afterwards, which surprised me the most

It's really weird how you think your bike's crap and new bikes are brilliant but when you get back on your's it's really not that bad, maybe you just get used to it and imagine it's worse than it is. ;)

i fancy test riding the new tracer 900GT, but still cant bear the thought of letting " the chainsaw" go,  :lol,
need to convince the better half that we should have both, i call it redundancy if owts wrong with one of them at least can jump on the other, funny thing a few weeks ago i put bike away without doing post checks, only to find on :rolleyes a lovely day had a flat rear, i wont make that mistake again
