Does your Fazer have the OEM immobiliser then?
(Just two ordinary black keys with mine too, but I bought it without the extra security.)

Was the immobiliser an optional extra on all FZS 600's?.

I believe so. The manual shows one on the circuit diagram for the foxeye version, though there are some changes to the wiring.

well contacted the owner he said never had red key, there was NO FACTORY IMMOBLILISER fitted !
so that would acount for it ? its a 2002 boxeye abit rough around the edges  damage to paint work
on tank, engine, forks but nothing i could not fix over winter,
not what i really want as under seat exhaust would be better (VERY tight entry to my house)
vs750 exhaust SCRAPE

2002 Boxeye?. 2002 was when the Foxeye was released.

Late registered old model?

I was looking at a 2008 '08 plate Honda Fireblade at the Honda dealers in Letchworth.

The DVLA check stated that it was first registered and manufactured in April 2008.

However it was the 2007 model with the under seat exhaust. The 2008 model went over to the stubby exhaust down on the side.

What happens when you come to order spare parts?. I guess you'd have to ignore the plate and specifically ask for the previous years parts?.

Simple. Go by chassis no. or model code.

You'd want parts for the 2006/7 model. It seems Honda don't have letter codes for differing models anymore. My Blade was a '98 making it an RRW model, totally different from the previous years RRV, but the same as a '99 RRX. A bit confusing I know, but may be of some help.

The FZS600 did not have any form of factory imobiliser. What you could get was a dealer fit optional alarm/imobiliser. Either way, they only ever came with 2 standard black keys.
