do I need to replace front sprocket nut
« on: 15 July 2018, 11:41:01 pm »
Hi,

Bike fitted with 12mm front sprocket.
If and when I need to change chain and sprockets front/rear.

Do I need to replace the present 12mm nut or can I re-use present nut....

You can reuse the 12mm nut if threads are ok,just make sure the washer is good to bend to lock the nut.
If required,

Actual recommended torque setting for the newer 12mm nut is 90Nm, but a few of us thought that might be a bit risky due to the thread issues so only used 80Nm with a bit of Loctite, as well as the washer.
9mm nut was 70Nm if memory serves me correctly.
