Advice on car engine issue?
« on: 11 June 2018, 09:32:49 am »
Guys...thoughts on this would be appreciated....
My DD has a two year old astra 1 litre petrol, about 35k on the clock. It's started showing engine management light and after scanning with Bluetooth sensor and torque app shows code p0303 which is engine misfire on cylinder 3. I have swapped plug and coil pack with cylinder 1 but fault code remains unchanged so I'm thinking possible injector issue??
Is it likely that redex would clear it or is there something better? I know she uses supermarket fuel and does run the tank low :(
Any other thoughts??

Two years old, isn't it still under warranty? If so, back to the dealer.

Yes...just trying to save a 50 mile round trip and a day wasted....then possibly another day to fix it... if there's something I can do to sort it.

Had a simular problem a while back , turned out to be a dirty injector multi plug , unplugged it .quick clean and squirt of wd40 and its been fine since....silly question , did you clear the code when you swapped coil +  plug ?
One, is never going to be enough.....

Hi Red..  Yes hoping for something simple like that... Did clear the fault code. Think I'll try running some Wynns injector cleaner and see where that takes me. Will also try some contact cleaner on the connecting plugs.
