Sloppy throttle response.
« on: 09 April 2018, 02:42:40 pm »
Hello All,

I own a 1998 Fazer 600, before I owned it it was looked after and was in a very shiny condition but hardly ever used, i have had the carbs out and cleaned and done a compression test but the throttle is really slow to respond, any advice on what i could do to improve the throttle response? I was thinking new jets but I dont want it to drink fuel.

All advice is appreciated.

Thanks FOCers. xx

What engine revs are you typically at when you think its responding poorly?
The FZS600 is a great responder when in the right gear.
Another ex-Fazer rider that is a foccer again

Hi there what do you mean by sloppy throttle response. Does it jerk or struggles to pick up speed?
You said that it was very looked after. Do you know when the plugs, filter were changed. If not then i would start there is cheap to replace a filter and plugs. Has the carbs been balanced after you or someone else cleaned?

good luck
