Tyres Help bt-016/ s21/ PP 2CT metzeler m7 rr
« on: 04 April 2018, 10:37:03 am »
Any views on any of these tyres I need front and back

bridgestone bt 016
bridgestone bt s21
Michelin Pilot Power 2CT

I am not looking for a massively long lasting tyre. I only ride dry so wet grip is no factor.
I understand that the 2CT was not available in 110 but it seems to be now

Hi Mr Sharp, the 21's are a big improvement on the 16's but I can't help you with the other choice as I've never tried the 2CTs

This is a good article on the bridgestones-

Yep, definitely had more confidence in the rear when braking hard with their hypersport tyres over the battlax. Both are good tyres though imo.

I am a bit of an odd one in that I am looking for a tyre that wears down quick because my tyres get old before they get worn and so I end up keep them too long.
I have an 023 on the front and an 021 on the back at the moment and I do under 1000 miles a year.
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

You obviously spend much to much time maintaining the grounds at Sharp Manor.
Don't be so tight, just get another gardener to join the team, you will find 10 men work better than 9 anyway. :rolleyes

Interesting to hear you say that because part of the advertising that had me convinced is that they warm up quickly and good for cold days as well as hot. To do with the 20% harder centre section underlining the softer 40% edge and passing the heat from the centre to the sides. (Told you I was convinced )

Fazersharp, they do warm up quickly but not like the Pr3/4 which appear to be up to temp in half a mile, I would not push the M7 until at least a mile. I have never lost traction with them, but their optium definitely takes a little longer.

Ok thanks 1/2 mile is fast. 1 mile is still good coming from a BT 023.

Fazersharp, just to add, thats on a fairly abrasive  tar and chip road from my house with a few nice left and right corners, not a nice smooth road in an estate or the like. By the time I get the 2 and a bit miles to the main road they are good and hot and ready for anything  :)
Oh some advice especially for you, they are fuck all use on ice or on hydraulic oil from tractors  :lol

What do you make of them Fazersharp?

I need to replace my PR3's soon, would like something more sporty and lighter!

I had bt16s on mine, lasted 2200 miles, mostly sprited riding but nothing mental) excellent grip, sticky and soft. The 16s feel like they offer more grip than i need.

But just had them changed for the st23 as mostly using it for commuting  now rather than just weekend blasts, can definetly feel they're a harder compound, not really pushed them too much yet.
