Side Panniers Rack (holder)
« on: 01 March 2018, 12:55:25 pm »
Hello all!
Trying to find a side pannier rack that will fit on my Fazer 600 2002 but it seems to be impossible. Have googled for two days and
all that i could find is for Fazer S2 04 -09.

Does anyone knows which side pannier can i use? Alternatives or ideas.

Cheers

Depends if you're planning to use hard or soft panniers. I have a perfect Givi Monokey Wingrack2. You'd need to alter/fabricate the universal fitting kit to suit your fzs 600, but it would be cheap. Pm me if interested.

Hi, depending how much you want to spend, Hepco and becker  sell 30 and 40ltr panniers and fitting kits for our bike. The fitting kit is £181 and the panniers are £290 for the 30ltr and £300 for the 40ltr

The photograph in the link for that kit looks like the panniers will be hanging off the back end of the bike - it's likely just me, but that fitting jus "looks" wrong.

I've got a pair of Krauser K2 panniers and side arms that I'm gong to fit to our 03 FZS 600 - should be a cinch to fit with a bit of nifty bracketry - and the panniers and arms can be found on flea bay pretty often (I've used them on various bikes for nigh on 30 years and they're still waterproof, rugged and, IMHO, stylish.

Yeah, I know that, but was just wondering about the kit as a whole if that's they way it's designed to fit the bike in the photo.

There's not much room on the 600 to fit panniers and keep room for passenger feet on the pegs etc, but I know it can be done nicely - just worried after seeing the bike in that photo.

I have nonfango on mine and no problem with space for pillion. The Givi ones on the Fazer 1000 are very bad pillion has problems getting on and of but ok when on.

Nonfango stopped manufacturing for a while but looks like their website is running so might be an option. The old stuff was pretty good in my experience.

Got Givi E21 on mine with the PL racks but also have some old school Krauser boxes in stock which are bigger and might be grafted on at some point if life allows any garage time 😀

Hello All

Used Oxford soft panniers on Liz's Fazer 1000 when we took the kids on a 2 week tour of Europe in 2004.

Still have them, still use them and they're still brilliant (pics below are almost 14 yrs old 😀) - no issues with interference of passenger feet, or legs, even though in the second pic our son was only 9 yrs old.

Did you have any luck?

I may have a set of hard side panniers and mounts for sale in the next week if you are interested?

Cheers
