Carb rubber caps
« on: 17 January 2018, 06:47:01 pm »
Just had my bike back from the mechanic, and he suggested that it would be a good idea to replace the rubber caps on the carbs, the ones that block off the pipe where you push the hose pipes onto when balancing the carbs.

Thing is i can’t figure out where they are on this drawing?
Any ideas?

I can't see them on there or in the parts list?

By the way, what is Part#50 described as 'Net,filter'?.

I didn't know there was a filter down that end.

If anyone needs to replace theirs, Fowlers were the cheapest, and by far the quickest delivery time.
Around £12 delivered for 4.

Yamaha part number 16G-13569-00

https://www.fowlersparts.co.uk/parts/view/16G-13569-00    (number 3, PLUG, BLIND)

I never really noticed until pointed out to me, but if you balance the carbs yourself you'll know like i do that these caps can be a nuisance to remove, so after a few times will start to weaken and perish due to the cold weather and hot engine temperature changes all the time.
If they leak any air at all it can cause all sorts of problems.
