Engine cutting out
« on: 06 November 2017, 02:39:33 pm »
Looking for a bit of advise. My Fazer's engine is cutting out when I come to a standstill especially when the bike has been running a while. Any ideas what the problem is?

Thanks
Mark.

What model is it?

When was it last serviced (new plugs, air filter etc)?

If it is the FZS600, is the choke still on?

If not, is the idle speed correct (1250 ish)?

If the choke is off and the idle speed is correct, you may have blocked (or partially blocked) pilot jets or even the air filter could be clogged causing problems.

Might be caused by clutch drag, try knocking it out of gear just before you stop and see if it still does it.

Unlikely on a warm engine. More likely on a cooler engine when the oil is thicker.

Check the battery terminals are tight. Mine were a bit loose and the bike was cutting out.
