Hey! What are you replacing it with you say a more modern version of the same are you meaning FZ6 by any chance?

That is a nice looking FZS you have there (My opinion, shame it's a Boxeye   :eek   ) 2003's are Foxeyes, but still a nice looking bike.

Looking at the machine, has it been in storage for quite a while? I get the feeling it might have been, although your write up would say otherwise.

Mileage just out of interest?
Good luck with the sale, good ones are becoming more rare and starting to command better prices, but quite a few scruffs out there though.

Thanks Tommy.

The mileage is 50,200. I bought it to commute to Alton and then to Havant.

I kitted it out to do the commuting but since 2012 I've worked for myself a whole 3 miles from home and It has sat in the garage not doing very much.

I've now bought a blue 2003 FZS600 foxeye with 12,000 miles.

I hope to sell this one quickly and get the new blue one into the garage without anyone else realising.

I'm willibg to accept a reasonable offer and help with delivery.

Hey Ogrump  :eek

Glad to hear you are going to stick with the FZS range and not DOWNGRADING to an FZ6      :rolleyes    "Phew" close call.

I have never owned a Boxeye but have been told by riders who have had both that there are more improvements in the Foxeye than just the lights, slightly larger capacity fuel tank, per-load adjusters to the front forks, more adjustment on the front brake lever reach.

But the main improvement has to be the lights, I have High Power (90 watt) hint of blue bulbs in mine and to be honest the beam throw on main beam is better than my Merc SLK and the dipped beam really illuminates the road.
I also have LED spots on the front of my old girl 2003 Foxeye they are focused on the road so that the bottom of the beam is 30 feet in front of the front wheel the nears side LED really illuminates the edge of the road/kerb.
But to be honest they are not really necessary on the foxeye for night time riding, but, they certainly add to safety  for daytime riding as I ride with my dipped head lights and LED's on all the time.
Glad you stuck to a carb bike rather than going to the FZ6 injected.
Good luck with the Boxeye sale and keep us informed.

Alton Ay! according to my profile map I live in the cetre of Ham Barn roundabout on the A3 near Liss, about 10 miles from Alton.
My wife is a teacher and works in Alton, me? I'm a lazy bastard and don't work at all.
Well that is not completely true I retired 3 years ago and work for two charities on a voluntary basis, keeps me busy and my mind active, it also makes me feel better about life when I cruising around in the summer on the FZS while her-in-doors is earning the money for me to gas it up. :lol

Hi Tommy, I always left the A31 south of Alton so never got as far as you. It was 30 miles door to door.

Yes the lights are rubbish and I don't have the courage to fit HIDs.

That being said this is a great bike.

Being a 2001 the bike has a larger tank than the first FZS's and also has pre load on front forks which reminds me that when the new fork seals where fitted I also used 15W fork oil.

The bike is in great condition for its age.
