Ducati 899 Panigale Question
« on: 19 September 2017, 09:31:06 am »
Someone might know the answer to this.

I'm looking at a 2014 model of the above online with a pillion seat cowl and no pillion foot rests/hangers.

Would that have been a factory option when the bike was ordered new, or would the foot pegs/hangers have been removed at a later date?.

Perhaps the current owner of said 899 Panigale can answer that question (they might still have the pillion pegs that were taken off)?
Or even the dealer, if its coming from a garage. If you are lucky, paperwork accompanying this bike might also show receipts for a new rear cowl ?

Majority of Sports bikes produced for the streets come with pillion pegs as standard. It's the most flexible option for buyers (taking pillions).
I know the 959 Panigale has pillion pegs fitted on as standard.

It's at a dealers.

I've seen lots of pics of 899's with rear pegs...and quite a few without (complete with seat cowl), which led me to guess that maybe it was an option offered when new.

Will have to go in and ask....or join a Ducati Owners Club :lol

I presume it will have been like the 1299 Panigale that I had.
When I picked up the bike new, the dealers had the rear pegs and seat in a bag for my missus to take home in the car along with the handbook etc.
It wasn't optional kit, it came with the bike but I never used them.

Thanks for the reply Freck. That makes sense.

How did you get on with the bike?. Would you recommend?.
