RPM Needle not stable - with video
« on: 10 September 2017, 07:22:20 pm »

Hi,

Been giving my FZS1000 a good going over before MOT, and have identified an issue.

As shown in the linked video, RPM fluctuates all the time, only by a few hundreds, but its at Idle or when throttle is open.

I have checked spark plugs, replaced them, checked HT Leads, and confirmed sparks, got a few shocks

I have not messed with Air filters, of Fuel filters yet but wonder if this is a sign of bad combustion or somete else i.e. TPS or something

Thanks

Anutz

check the air filter and balance the carbs and set the TPS as a starter, but many of the 1000s and 600s are like that.
Badly adjusted Pilot screws can also cause it. Very difficult to get it perfect without a co2 meter for each downpipe
