Datatool system3 removal

Anyone removed one from a gen1 thou ? If so was it difficult ?

Not difficult as such, but time consuming.
Take your time, address one wire at a time. All the wires on the alarm are black, no id, so if you don't label them yourself before you start it is non reversible.


Alarm wiring is spliced/soldered into the bikes wiring, remove them then re-solder the colour matched original wiring back together. One at a time.


Must confess I was worried when I tackled mine, but had no problems. Off memory took me an afternoon, but I did tend to fanny on checking then double checking, worked out well in the end. Good riddance to datatool.


Dis-connect the battery before you start.
