AIS removal problem
« on: 29 July 2017, 01:23:09 pm »

Just been blocking the exhaust holes on the AIS, and ran into an issue on the last one (number 4) - the stub thing the AIS pipe attaches to is broken, half if it is on the engine and the other half is still fastened to the AIS pipe.

Will chemical metal block the remnants of the hole and stand the exhaust temperature?

Cheers

Well, due to impatience, I've stuffed it up with chemical metal.  I'll see how it goes

Is there not enough stub left to get any thread on at all?
If you are using M6 bolts to cap the ais off then if you can get 6mm of full thread cut with the tap the bolt will be secure with a bit of loctite, just shorten the bolt to suit the length of thread cut.
I have always found chemical metal a bit hit or miss.
