Black Widow or Delkevic
« on: 27 July 2017, 08:32:25 pm »

My downpipes have split at one of the welds so need a new set. I could do with a replacement to the standard can too.

Delkevic and Black Widow  both do full systems for under £300 but which one would you recommend?

Heard good reports on the Delkavic down pipes, come in sections & I believe that they have the balance pipes between 1-2,3-4 as the originals.

It’s a poor choice these days now Motad has ceased trading.
I’m not the only one to have had a miserable time with Delkevic and Sandy Bike Spares/Black Widow at least fit better, but the exhaust clamps have a reputation for snapping.
Of course, either could have improved since I last bought.

I had major issues with Delkevic also, pipes just would not fit, :eek looked as if the jig was wrong and after the second set was even worse than the first set, the so called manager had to cheek to say I did not know how to fit them, when it was clear the problem was with their jig allignment.  With the whole lot together it was 25mm away from the frame mounting bolt hole. He was lucky he was on the end of an email and accross the Irish sea. :pc
Bought two set of Motads one for my son and second one for my own fazer and had no problem, great to deal with, such a shame they closed.

I've read about issues with other Delkevic stuff not being up to scratch, like their radiators for the Kawasaki ZRX.

I had fitted delkevic downpipes to many other bikes before the Fazer debacle, which was why I went for Delkevic first.  :eek

:agree

I pulled the cover off my sons FZS600 at the weekend to see what pipe he has. He has a full Delkevic system. That's sounds OK to me so I may go that route.

Thanks all.
