Cadwell Park
« on: 16 July 2017, 10:15:41 am »
I'm taking the Mighty Fazer to Cadwell tomorrow (Monday 17th) for a little track day and was wondering if any other Foccers are going. On their Fazers or other track hacks?

I think you're Billy No Mates today Mickey. Would definitely like to see some more of your on track vids where you rip up the big boys through the twisties. You should get a fair few from the Gooseneck to the start/finish.  :thumbup
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.

Drive over the mountain in 3rd, you can keep it pinned from the bottom of the hill thro to hall bends

It was amazing. I was in the novice group as I've not been before but really, 90% were intermediate riders so it was very fast. It's quite a technical track so I was cautious for the first 2 sessions. You were right about the Mountain 5lv, 3rd gear was best and some nice floaters. I'm not any good at wheelies but by keeping the power on it was easy to keep the front hovering along above the tarmac. Chris Walker was instructing and is mates with a few in our group so a good laugh was had. Peter Hickman was walking around chatting, as was Terry Rymer.
I have been having problems with my right wrist for the last few months and this restricted me getting harder on it as twisting the throttle wide and braking hard caused my wrist to swell up plus the pain. Oh and talking of pain. Getting on the road for 0215 and then getting home for 2230, that was the real pain. Maybe camp next time.

glad you had fun.
one of my favourite tracks. got my crash bung and belly pan down round coppice.
there's a line around charlies which avoids the ripples as you tip right, knocks a good chunk off your times as you get on the power so much earlier down park (brake at 175yd)

I hate that. I've done a few novice days there and there's always 2 or 3 'intermediate' riders there just to brush their egos. Sometimes you'll even get a 'fast' rider in the novice group bit they tend to be kocked out if they drive too aggressively.

Is a great track though. Glad it's my local 😋😋

At first I braked but as the confidence grew I just managed to throttle off a bit and hang on. The second apex at Charlies caught me out a few times as did the Gooseneck. The Hairpin was better once I slowed down a bit too.
