« on: 15 July 2017, 02:19:46 pm »
It's that dreaded time of the year again trying to get a competitive quote, anyone got a recommendation other than the usual comparison websites??

I generally switch between carol nash and bennetts with they're multi bike policies haven't had a claim in over 20 years and they're still robbing b*****ds the only thing i'll say about e bike is they're cheap but when you want to contact them you have to use they're premium phone line because the web site is permanently down.

High time for government intervention/investigation of the motor insurance industry.
Their activities make some bankers appear honest in comparison!
Since insurance is a legal obligation for owners of motor vehicles perhaps 3rd party only cover could be provided at a much reduced cost. This would help younger drivers who manage to purchase a car/bike but then are struggling to afford the extortionate premiums. Right?
Now then we can introduce driver/rider incentives that REWARD good road behaviour and vehicle users with a good record pay ever decreasing premiums whilst those with a poor history can pay for their actions.
Lets cut out all this nonsense about innocent parties losing their no claims because some prat drives into them. Just load the prats premiums.
There is a theme developing here-its not rocket science is it?
Maybe this fairer system would reduce the number of RTCs/improve driver behaviour & attitude with consequent savings all round.(Emergency services/NHS costs/Lost days work).
meantime dont hold your breath waiting for common sense action from our "elected" representatives.
DO NOT ACCEPT RENEWAL NOTICE -always query their calculations. ALWAYS GET OTHER QUOTES FIRST so you can TELL the robbing b******s you have a far cheaper quote elsewhere.
Remember that a lot use AUTOMATIC RENEWAL so if you pay by direct debit/credit card beware.! :eek

Thanks for the input, strangely enough Bennetts turned out to be the most expensive, MCE were the cheapest by having a fairly large excess.
