Philips Xtreme Vision PLUS H4 Bulbs
« on: 13 July 2017, 09:24:57 am »

Hi
just wanted to share my experience  - these bulbs lasted about 6 weeks (about 40 hours) each rather than the 450 hours they claimed ! Maybe a voltage or overheating problem ?

i went with the osram night breakers - so far so good
- if you still have the reciept i would take them back after 40 hours

I've used both in the past, and I think I have the Osram's in at the moment, but they're pretty much the same as far as output is concerned.
The pair of them probably are the best you can get bulb wise, although they still can't make up for the poor reflectors in the headlight unit.

They should last way longer than 40 hours BUT have you considered the chance that it may have been vibrated to death?
They can have a buzz about them which will eventually make them fit a bit looser than ideal then the bike can shake the life out of them.
That happened with my H1 bulb on the left side so I put some self amalgamating tape on the holder to build it up a bit so it can be held better in place plus the tape cushions the vibes a bit.
