ITV4 now for all you 2 stroke nuts.....160bhp and 120kgs.....lethal combination.

You forgot there was no fancy electronics either to help the rider. Would love to see the present GP, world superbike stars go head to head on the old 2 strokes 500s would sort the men from the boys bet there would be a few surprise results. I started riding on 2 strokes still cover the clutch to this day. So who do we think would be up to taming the beasts?

Didn't forget, just didn't mention it but yes when you imagine all the electronic rider AIDS available today, not to mention the leap in tyre technology and chassis design.....these things were like bucking Broncos.
As for who would actually be up to taming these machines today, that's a hard one.....Think there'd be a lot of whinging and excuse making going on.

I have to admit I'm not a Rossi fan but to give him his due he won a championship riding a 500cc stroker albeit a slightly more civilised version than these.

On the race timetable each day there are two 2 stroke races ,nice to hear and smell them
