I will check it again at the end of the week like you suggested as I can do it at the same time as when I fit the new plugs and air filter 👍

Update:


Fitted the new spark plugs, air filter & fuel filter and the problem got better but didn't go away completely, so spoke to my mate again and he told me (after confirming his thoughts with my other mate who I bought the bike from) that they recon it needs a new regulator rectifier, so found a new one on eBay for just under £40, it arrived today so I swapped out the old one and just got back from test riding and so far the problem has completely gone. So I'm now a happy bunny again.

Problem seems to be sorted after fitting the new Regulator Rectifier, rode it to work this morning and all fingers crossed seems fine and back to normal if not slightly better than before

Good to hear  ......tested mine and it showed no problems , iam still not 100% sure it was faulty but been fine since , its good that you think its running slightly better than before , parhaps the reg/rec had been slowly breaking down but not enough to notice........really do hope its the answer to your problem , can be bl**dy frustrating these type of problems....

it is very frustrating as where things keep going wrong it's making me wonder if I should trade it in for something newer, but I'm finding it very difficult to pursuade the wife to let me get an MT-10  plus I don't really want to get rid of it as I love my  it's such a cracking beast.

Noooooooooo...dont sell the fazer.......was out with the LOFO's at the weekend and one of the muppets thought it a good idea to leave his fazer at home and bring his MT10 instead    ...i was on my 600 boxeye , followed him all day and to be honest , i couldn't see any difference in performance between the two bikes

I don't want to sell the  as like I say I love my red boxeye beast as it's just such a nice ride, but I know there will come a time that it will have to go as I do really wan't a bigger CC bike. Maybe my mate accross the road will trade his MT-09 for it as he said to me that he prefers smaller bikes since pootling about on his girlfriends Van Van, it means I would still get to see and maybe go for a blast on the  from time to time. I test rode his MT-09 the other day and well it felt as nice a ride as the  but with that little extra poke that I'm looking for

Ah yes....classic symptoms.......this is how it started for me.....I now have 5 bikes

If I could I would have a fleet of different bikes, but unfortunatly I just do not have the room as even 2 bikes would be a very tight squeeze in my garage. For a short period of time I did have 2 bikes and it was such hard work trying to get a bike out and even put away in an evening and as I ride everyday I just didn't need the extra hassle

added update: The bike is definatly running better than normal now, my ride into work this morning on this bright sunny day really showed that as the power was flowing through so well I was actually struggling to keep the front wheel down
