Foot peg swap
« on: 23 May 2017, 06:48:13 am »
Hi All,

There is an allen bolt at the back of the right hand footpeg.  I am guessing that if I unscrew this I can replace the footpeg?   When I turn mine it turns a half turn then stops.  I don't want to force it and foc it up so just checking that it should fully unscrew?  Maybe just needs a bit of penetrating spray?

Ta :-)

Yes, undo it and the peg will come off.

These often get damaged in spills, in that they are forced which tears up the hanger stop (a flat cast into the hanger mounting hole) which then allows the peg to turn as yours appears to do.

If you're throwing the old peg away then get hold of it with a set of grips before trying to remove the bolt, at least that way you wont damage the hanger trying to get the peg off
Complete fabrication, I didn't make it up!

Great, thank you!  I was pretty sure it was supposed to come off, just wanted to check :-)
