carb jets on pods
« on: 27 March 2017, 05:37:42 pm »
ok so my C-Head came off today for stud drilling and i foresee the problems getting the carbs back in so going to fit pods
was going to in future anyhow so might aswell save some trouble and do it now
i think i have the jet sizes sorted but my question is
what type of carbs are they, what type of jets
and where is worth getting decently priced jets from?

-any help advice would be greatly appreciated
and if you have pods and know your jet sizes posting here wouldnt hurt (easier for others to find)

seems this topic is scaring people
so after some hunting i have found info using pods say 125 outer carbs and 127.5 inners
rubyracer also found this info so i asked him for help/advice
within 24hours i got a reply telling me to think again about this route but me being me guess what
im going ahead anyway (not using k+n's just yet as im skint) but will go down the dyno route once close enough
- rubyracer is on hold at moment so maybe i will catch up in the meantime so if you want to see the on the road project develop get yourself on youtube and subscribe to www.youtube.com/channel/UCvWtJO9iyS8XsR9RNHx72UQ
it may have me talking bollox at time on rideouts but i try and involve the workshop as much as i can
but get rubyracers blog on your bookmarks aswell as i found it really interesting/informative/inspirational (im not brown nosing lol)

Thanks for the plug and apologies to everyone for the lack of progress on my build. Caused by having to prep a new bike for track duties when my previous one shat it's gearbox and crank!

Further delays possible as just bought a 2001 ZX-7R and am now modding that (suspension front and rear, shedding weight) for track use also.

Sorry!
Feel the Fear and do it anyway!

ok i have had some success - using 125s in 1+4 and 127.5s in 3+4 with the circlip on the fourth groove down
i am only using cheap chinese pods for now untill i can afford k+n's and new exhaust system then will be down the dyno to get her properly setup
have uploaded a video on my youtube channel- link should be in my signiture

Had my old Katana set up by an engine tuner with nothing more than a fuel air meter. I complained re throttle response and he told me to roll the gas on not wack it wide open, worked a treat, soon got used to it, I think most expect to be able to abuse the throttle as they did with the airbox in place and of course it hesitates so they think they have a problem. I must have done 20k with filters and was no different to stock once you got the feel for it
Complete fabrication, I didn't make it up!

Didn't mean to sound like a boring old focer, just hard enough to get kids to wear protective clothing without experienced riders showing them how not to dress when riding.

Now where are my pipe and slippers...............
