What's the point of Quorn?
« on: 27 March 2017, 03:19:00 pm »
I don't get it. If you're vegetarian then be a vegetarian rather than pretend to eat meat. Tried it the other night, it's just not nice. Am I missing something?
Treat everything in life the way a dog would- if you can't eat it or foc it, forget it.

More people are born because of alcohol than will ever die from it.

It seems to me that the point of quorn is to provide everyone with a tasteless and overpriced dinner!

Yep, you've got it Celtic - seems to be the point of all Vegetarian Meals.

Vegan is the real mother-lode  though !!!!

One of our son's went Vegan for a month to raise sponsorship for a mental health charity - it cost us a bloody fortune buying Vegan food for him. Glad it was only for a month.

What I don't get is that if a veggie comes round for tea they expect you to knock up a veggie meal to suit them, :b , but if you go round a veggie's house they won't knock up steak and chips to suit you, doesn't seem fair really.
It's easier to get more money than it is a day of your life back.

Many years ago when  Mad cow disease was all the rage my Mrs said that's it no more meat. I was away at sea at the time. We ate everything else but red meat(Cow) Well they did if I wanted a steak I got one. It was Quorn burgers this , Quorn Sausages etc! My Lad must have been about 12 at the time so he was brainwashed by his mum. I used to take him to watch Tranmere Rovers at home. At half time I says do you want a burger , god love him he went all teary eyed, don't tell me mum I thought he was going to choke it went down that quick lol. I must admit I reckon that is when my son grew a pair of balls, he gets home and tells his mum, that's it no more Quorn burgers or sausages just had a proper burger so in future proper meat on the table from now on lol.
Must admit the wife said to me later on , thank fuck for that that stuff is shite !!!

I've never had it, as I have a policy of not eating things unless they look like what they are.

As the owner of my local kebab house once said, "if you are sober enough to ask what's in it, you're not p***ed enough to eat it!"

It's a money spinner!  Sold as a source of protein but then vegetables, beans, grains, nuts etc etc contain protein.  still, if you're that way inclined, I suppose it broadens the spectrum of meals you can have on your plate!

Now, where's that darned pig I was just about to butcher..........
