Speedo reading problem
« on: 15 March 2017, 02:19:40 pm »

Hi All,
Can anyone advise please?
My speedo is reading at least twice the speed than I am travelling???
I could understand it if the speedo stopped working all together, but for it to register at least twice the speed has me completely bewildered.
Any help from you guys would be much appreciated.
Regards,
John

has it always done this while you have owned it or recently started
does it say kph or mph (100kph = 62mph)
as you said twice the speed then that is close enough

Check the cable hasn't been routed wrong by the brake disk and rubbed through the insulation this can give strange readings as the brake disk shorts the wires to each other.

Found the problem.........................................badly routed cable slightly touching the brake disc which has worn through the wiring sheath.
Wasn't obvious at first, but running my finger on the back of the sheath revealed the problem.
Thanks to all that responded..........................Much appreciated.
Many thanks,
John
