Black Widow or Delkevic header ?
« on: 05 March 2017, 10:10:39 pm »
Going to upgrade the soft mild steel standard headers on my 2003 600.

Both come in at about £185 new, however, what's the best ?

Would normally recommend Motad but someone on here had quality issues & trouble getting them to respond to emails/phone calls & they are a lot more than the ones you have mentioned, but I think I would go for the Delkevic ones as they have the the connecting pipes between 1-2,3-4 as originals it may pay you to get a new exhaust can at the same time if it works out cheaper together it would look better than putting the original one back on if that's what you've got. You will need most lightly to have carbs balanced after fitting the new downpipes.

Start spraying those exhaust studs now with Plusgas not WD-40 to hopefully avoid snapping studs on removal.

Not sure if Bandit is remembering right... those of us who've tried Delkevic recently have regretted the decision.

Wow, that's a good thread, lol,,, may stick to the Orem ones as they're still in great nick, but stainless does look better lol

Not sure if anyone else here has had a different experience to me but I bought my bike with some after market headers that don't have the balancing pipe across them and the bike runs like a dream.

Good luck with the studs!

I have fitted Motad & as said they fitted no problem but your not going to get a set from Motad for less than £200,keep a eye on ebay they some times do them for less or ring them direct as a lot of us have for best price around £260 iirc, but make sure they you ask them that they are polished as someone on here got them unpolished  Shocked
