New Front Brake Discs
« on: 27 December 2016, 03:15:11 pm »
I have been looking on the net for some new front brake discs for my beloved 2000 FZS 600. I have seen a set advertised at £150 for a pair by a company called wizbiz on eBay. Does anyone know if they are any good or should I give them a miss. The low price is very tempting but I don't want to waste my cash and a load of old crap. Also does anyone have any viable alternatives ? Your help, opinions and advice would be much appreciated.  :)

With the ZZR I gambled on a second hand front wheel - the tyre was gash but discs were good and MOT pass - total cost £35
- it was a gamble though .

Bit of a minefield with brake discs unfortunately, not only are they quite expensive, but they can also behave great for one persons riding style but not for another.
Only advice i would give though is not to buy from abroad because if you do have any issues you're gonna have language barriers and weeks or even months of delays trying to get things sorted out.

Why are you replacing them? Are they worn too thin or warped? If they're warped you can save them sometimes by cleaning and freeing up the bobbins

I got these

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-FZS600-Fazer-1998-2003-Ferodo-Motorcycle-Track-Front-Brake-Disc-/141768817764?hash=item2102147c64:g:4o8AAOSw4SlV7qH0

You'd be £200+ for both fronts but Ferodo are a good brand, not sure on the miles i've done but they are lasting well and not rusting even though used all winter.
