Hi everyone I've just joined your great forum. I am the new proud owner of a 2004 fzs 1000 and love it. I will be looking to get her Ivanised in Jan/Feb if anyone can advise on who/where to get it done in the Glasgow area. Thanks for having me 👍

Welcome Wee Rocky :)

I am from near Glasgow myself (Dumbarton). I got quite lucky and got my thou Ivanised by mike not long after I bought it (A lot of the scottish foccers got done in one weekend when Mike came over). I dont know of anywhere local that does the ivanising, although something tells me bigbluebear had his slip on kit (not full monty) done by a local company?

Thanks mickvp I got my fzs 1000 6 weeks ago with very little service history with 42250 on the clock. It runs great though and my plan is to take her into dynotech in Hillington for a full service and get everything checked and mabey ask them to fit my ivan slip on kit while it's in there that's if they can do it the ivans way. Does anyone know if these guys do it? All I've heard are great things from these guys. Thanks! Great forum👍 :lol .

Hi Wee Rocky and welcome,
Seeing as you're intending to have the slip on kit fitted, wouldn't it be better to go for the full monty because if you decided at a later date to do that upgrade, unless you're doing it yourself, the labour involved is pretty much the same.To make it work properly you would have to run a can all the time though.Just a thought,as I don 't like to see good money wasted. :)

I too am from the Glasgow area although live near falkirk now. I'm hoping Mike will do my bike.

Dynotech in Glasgow did do my slip on version, but there is no comparison to the full monty and I regretted spending the money on the slip on when I upgraded to the full monty as the difference is vast......the full monty is the only way to go.

Thanks and hello everyone! You guys know your stuff so I'll definitely go for the full monty then. Bigbluebear do you think dynotech will do the full monty? I'll pop in over the weekend and speak to them. My British bull dog is called Broxy by the way 👍

If he is, you'll no doubt have to have a trip down south. But it will be worth it.

All I can say is that it will definitely be worth the wait. You will absolutely love it. If Mike is planning a visit later in the year he usually posts his dates well in advance. Maybe pm Mike to get on his next list if he's compiling one.
