Height of Naff awards 2016
« on: 29 August 2016, 04:42:58 pm »
Reading darssis post on "what have you done with your 600 Fazer today" concerning blacked out indicators on cars got me thinking  there must be plenty of really naff add-ons, accessories etc adorning cages.
My favourite for starters is the ever so desperately trying to spell a name/word by illegally positioning characters on registration plates. I know theres some really nice plates out there but some I see are really sad and to think people pay money for them! :lol
Im sure you fellow foccers can come up with plenty!

Cars that have been lowered so much, or with low skirting, that they literally can't deal at all with any speed bumps.

And those dump valve gadgets, they're just proper tacky.

The cars which bounce all over the place due to rock hard suspension - cos that makes them handle well doesn't it! :wall

Led daylight running lights on older cars that the owners has fitted, there is always a bulb out and the led strip is on the piss.

Black stuff on the bonnets of vw and transit vans I keep seeing all of a sudden and only on vans and its in a checker patten. Although its usually is a good warning sign that the driver is going to be driving like a twat.
That black strip that fits just on the front of a cars bonnet with little flip up flap things but again also a good twat driver warning

Don't get me started! Those 2 parallel 'racing stripes' running from front to back across a car and all those car parts stickers they put on the back windscreen in an attempt to tell you how their car is considerably more faster than yours . . . I don't mind boy racers, but middle aged men should really know better.

Cars driving with the fog lights on... when it isn't foggy?!
What is that all about? Hey everyone look at me, my car has fog lights!!?!

(and motorcyclist that ride with their headlights on full beam all the time also, that p*s me off)

If you want to see naff go to Ace Cafe on a Friday or Saturday night. You'll see it all. It's like a Fast and Furious parody without the chicks... or budget... or cool cars.

People who polish their car for hours to a mirror finish.
Got a fella at work who does this, obviously it's a black BMW.
Yeah it does look like it's just come out of a showroom, but you just know it's gonna shove it down with toxic rain within 3 days and spoil it all so why fecking bother?

Same as when you get groups of lads just standing around a car, staring at it.
3 hours later they're still there, just making sure they've blackened the tyre walls enough and that the wheels are still round.

More people are born because of alcohol than will ever die from it.

Naught wrong with polishing a car, leaves a protective layer so doesn't matter about the rain! :pokefun

Height of Naff:

Any motorcycle with a cutdown numberplate or a small single line  - stuck in the 90s.
An LED indicator conversion without altering the circuit electronics so they flash far too fast.

Those stupid tow straps hanging from the tow eyes on cars. Are they an admission that your car breaks down a lot (if they are on the front) or your driving is so bad you need to be dragged out of ditches regularly (on the back)?

Poorly positioned Satnavs. I appreciate people need to see them but when they have been stuck to the windscreen right in front of the driver, the driver cant see the feccin road anymore!!!

Also, daytime colour on Satnavs at night. Why? It is so bright, you get dazzled by the bloody thing when you overtake a car.

Deliberately rusted up bodywork and a sticker saying 'Rust is not a crime'.

True, rust is not a crime. Rat Look is the crime, rust is the punishment.

I did, only because people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Far too many naff mods on motorcycles to ignore. Get over to the barryboys forum for awful car mods!

That was really popular in the 80's and now the guys restoring the RD350 LC's etc... are paying a fortune to get the rare-as-hen's-teeth rear mudguards back again :lol

Oops sorry it's about cars isn't it! :o
