Rear Hugger Question!
« on: 21 August 2016, 09:10:29 pm »
Hi guys & gals, just wondered if anyone has fitted a rear hugger from an FZS 1000 onto a 600, I'm wanting to purchase one from another member but not sure if it will go straight on my W-reg 600, any help would be kindly received?

Those huggers are slotted in very tidily and obviously hug the tyre as well very closely, so i can't imagine a bigger version being able to fit in its place.

If buying a used 600 hugger check the distance between chain guard bolt holes as I believe they can be different on certain years..
Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it...

Correct. One for a 600 Foxeye (2002/2003) has different hole spacing from the Boxeye model.

Rather than start a new thread; can anyone recommend a good hugger for a 2003 Fazer 600.

This looks good:

Anyone had got one fitted?

EDIT: Just bought it.

Hi I had a Powerbronze rear hugger nice bit of kit.
The company come from Littlehampton down on the coast in West Sussex about 40 minuets ride from my home.

I rode down to Littlehampton and picked mine up they knocked 15 quid off the price for me as a caller.
I got the Carbon effect one looked great and fitted a treat, it also comes with the screws and rubber mounting grommets.
Great company to deal with very friendly and the guys there were chatty and showed me some of the bikes the were customising at the time, those guys pay attention to detail for sure.
Pictures with hugger fitted.

Since then I have actually cut the hugger down and made it into a fancy chain guard, third picture.
I cut it down just simply because I wanted a slightly different look not because there was anything wrong with the hugger.

Oh! 2003 Foxeye

Most irritating thing ever (my opinion) that things like belly pan and rear hugger was extra you could buy when you purchased a new bike. Why wasnt that a standard thing, at least the hugger could came with the bike.
Trying now to find a belly pan and i am not interesset to pay 200 bucks on a new one.  :'( If anyone know or have one for theforxeye, I am interessed.

I don’t see the original rubber flap behind the shock, aren’t you exposing it to a lot of road crap now you’ve cut the hugger off?
