LOFO'S run along the Jurassic coast
« on: 16 June 2016, 07:26:55 pm »
Hello fellow Lofo's   So, who's up for a run along the Jurassic coast beginning of July ?

Myself and Red Ceri are planning to don a tent and sleeping bag and set out on the Saturday staying over night somewhere, Midden's up for coming too, we've just got to workout dates cos Midden's an awkward bastard. :D

Obviously some won't be able to stop over but could arrange to meet up along the way either day. Non Lofo's welcome too especially any locals who know some good roads.

I haven't planned a route but going to be the usual Nell's café meet, across country to the A272, as far west as we can get before dropping down to the coast road and taking in the magnificent views and coastline.

If the weathers good  we can cool off in the sea and get out on the lash Saturday night before stumbling back to our tents.

Just gauging any interest and letting you know what we have planned in case others fancy converging on us en-route and tagging along.

Thoughts please Foccers

deffo not first weekend in July, possibly the second weekend for me, although might only get away with a ride on the Saturday.

OK going to try and keep it as fluid as possible but not going to be able to please everyone.
It seems that the 2/3rd July is probably best for the majority so far (sorry Harry :( )
Weather's going to be a factor too as I'm not camping and riding in the pissing rain, so it's going to be forecast permitting.

Don't know where we're going to camp yet but by then we would have come out of the EU and apparently once we do, you can pitch a tent wherever the fuck you like  :lol

Hi Dazza,
I'd definitely be up for some riding/camping and beer, whatever the chosen weekend. A poor weather forecast would be the only deciding factor, as have had more than my fair share of camping in the rain. Where would you be aiming for, somewhere like the Lulworth Cove area, or more into Devon?.

Nice one Robbo, yes, somewhere between Bournemouth and Weymouth so Lulworth cove/ Durdle door looks smack in the middle. Bournemouth has a nice sandy beach with plenty of peaches 8) and the coast road west of Weymouth hugs pretty close to the sea.
Also not that much further west from the 272 and the Isle of Wight and we've done that in a day so should be comfortably do-able over the two days.
Nothing's set in stone though and is subject to change with input from others. Where will you be coming from and where will you be meeting us?
Will almost certainly stop at Loomies en-route.

Croydon's my nearest town, so meeting up won't be a problem, anywhere on the A272 that's good for you. If you go through Cowfold, I could grab breakfast at The Chalet and meet you on the Cowfold roundabout, depending on how early you leave, or anywhere further west if you're not on the 272 at that point, as I don't know what direction you're coming from. Should be a good crack.

Well, we will be coming form Gravesend and heading towards Tunbridge wells picking up the 272 from the beginning. We can meet you at the Chalet café or Tunbridge wells and ride the 272 as a group. Just got to work on times. It's up to you dude.

We've been there a few time Midden, don't think you've been on the rideouts though. Last time I had to wait about an hour for a fry up....Won't be ordering food there again. Well, I might but will order it before I leave home. :D

Hi Dazza,
In that case,if you're coming out of Gravesend on the A227, I can get breakfast at the Oakdene and then meet you on the A227/A20 roundabout at the bottom of Wrotham Hill. If we swap mobile numbers you could call me when you're leaving Nell's,then I'll know how fast to eat. :lol

That's a better idea, I'll pm you my number and over the course of the next few weeks meeting times should be better arranged.
