New to this club
« on: 02 June 2016, 04:58:12 pm »
Hi guys, new to this club, I have had motorcycles of all descriptions but have had my 600 fazer for probably the longest 10 years.
I live in Norfolk and don't get enough time out on the bike but love a summer time blasts.

I am currently going to be fitting some drop dog bones to the rear suspension as I have always struggled with short leg syndrome and any useful information on this would been helpful.

Welcome to the forum.
You have had your bike 10 years and only now you decide to lower it ??
I could change my opinion, but then we'd both be wrong.

Yeah as I only do a few hundred a year has been a huge issue but doing more miles and a bit of touring thought it might be a useful thing to do.

I have short legs as well and have had to lower all of my bikes. Best not to lower it too much though as you will not have a lot of lean on the side stand and the bike could easily fall over (you could always get the side stand shortened though). You will also find it more difficult to get it on the centre stand as the centre stand will be closer to the ground reducing leverage.
I could change my opinion, but then we'd both be wrong.

You have just read my thoughts in 2 areas is harder to get on the center stand now and side stand does seem a bit to long. The problem I had was the dog bones only had 25mm drop or 50mm drop nothing in between and 25mm wasn't enough and 50mm is possibly to much. Will have to see how I get on . Cheers.
