Hi all I think I already know the answer to this question but here goes my folks are creaking with a deferent bump at the bottom when I rock back and forth with the front brake on, does this mean they are knackered?

Don't knock us old folks, you will be old one day!  LOL

Are you sure it's the forks & not the front brake pads knocking in the calipers, put the front tyre up against a wall & then try the forks with brakes off.

Ill fitting pads can cause a knock, as can the outside part of a floating brake disc.
If it's a heavy knock that you can feel in the handlebars then it might need a little tightening at the top end. (steering head)
